The use of digital learning has seen strong growth in recent years, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, teleworking and the changing needs of companies, schools and training organizations . These players seek to meet continuing education requirements, reduce costs, and adapt to dispersed and varied audiences.
Designing effective digital training requires much more than simply putting content online. We must offer personalized, interactive and accessible experiences, while taking into account the specificities of the learners: age, technical skills, available equipment, possible disabilities, socio-professional context, etc. The courses must be scripted and paced, integrating various formats such as videos, quizzes, and interactive activities.
The Erasmus+ project UPTOOL (“Using Profiles To Optimize Online Learning”), launched in 2021, aims to evaluate the effectiveness of different digital educational methods. It relies on a European consortium including digital training experts and academic institutions. The study made it possible to test various approaches with a wide audience in order to identify good practices.
